Hammond Report January 16 2021 from Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - Daily Music and Stories from the organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story about playing my first house party (or haus party) at my friend's Siggi & Peter's haus in trio with a fine young drummer, Nicolai Ditsch with Joe Berger guitar and yours truly Jon Hammond at the organ. We are playing my theme song "Late Rent" long-time theme of my cable TV show in America, going out every late Friday night from Manhattan Neighborhood Network - MNN at 01:30AM 'Jon Hammond Show' - special thanks to my long-time friend Claus-Dieter Rotthoff, Claus drove us in his nice BMW and fixed me up with a nice amp for the hit from his shop Musik Rotthoff in Hamburg, dankeschön Claus!

Long story here - I hope you'll join me again tomorrow and every day for another Hammond Report until the coast is clear folks!

Daily Music and Stories from the organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story about playing jazz trio gig in the concert hall of Radio France Maison de la Radio with the late great jazz drummer George Brown who died sadly in Paris, George played on records with Wes Montgomery and Chet Baker, Barry Finnerty is the guitarist and yours truly Jon Hammond at the XB-2 Hammond organ through a Leslie Speaker. We are playing my original composition "Lydia's Tune" that I wrote in Paris on my first visit there in 1981 after flying aboard Air France Concorde from JFK to CDG. Merci beaucoup to the great jazz pianist Olivier Hutman for introducing me to George when he was playing in La Villa jazz club with George and Teddy Edwards during a time when I was living in Paris.

Just 1 day to go to the big election day folks, I am hoping that there will be a peaceful transfer or power don't ya' know! Also, just a few minutes ago Apple has announced a big event on November 10th for the introduction of the new Macbook Pro's with Apple silicon, so stay tuned for that. Be safe everybody, keep masking up in the pandemic, and come back tomorrow for another Hammond Report,

Hammond Report July 25 2020 From Pandemic Quarantino Jon Hammond - daily Music & Stories from organist & accordionist Jon Hammond, today's story about the time in 1996 when I was living in Hamburg Germany and I asked Uwe Petersen (drums) if he could play a gig with me and Tony Lakatos (tenor saxophonist) in trio, first time in Jazzkeller Hofheim - so Uwe drove us all the way down to Hofheim am Taunus in his kombi (station wagon) and we had a soundcheck, and nice dinner - even a hotel! Here is the gig and the story, and big congratulations to Tony for his biography book that just came out by author Rainer Erd! I hope I can read it if an English version comes out - at least I can look at the pictures (we are not in the book) - everybody stay safe out there, mask-up in public, Jon Hammond told ya' so! I'll be back tomorrow with another Hammond Report.
